Story

The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Laptop supports SATA and M.2 type Drives. If you choose to go with Mechanical Hard Drives, or if you choose to go with Solid State Drives; the choice is yours with consideration to go with black performance mechanical drives if is not ssd.

If you into gaming, heavy on video content creation, and always on the computer doing business; installing a western digital ssd drive is the solution to your lack of speed.

Solid State Drives are also designed to last a long time, due to their non moving parts; they are becoming the new hard drives for newer computers.

One advantage the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop offers is the ssd drive connection on the board for the M.2 2280 model. Of course you also have your typical sata drive connection.

The best recommended configuration for your solid state drive is to use the board slot for primary drive. Then use your sata slot for your secondary drive.

I use my Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Laptop for two main reasons, business with a lot of multi tasking; and gaming with some of the latest action games.

My configuration was c drive on the m.2 slot with 1tb using wd blue. Then I configured d drive on the sata slot with 2tb also using the western digital blue.
